Wedding Bliss

Hey peeps! It’s been a while, but when I said I wanted to spend my summer resting I meant just that! My whole summer has consisted of sleeping, eating, and working the store, and to be honest I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Prior to this summer I hadn’t had a chance to nap since before I opened the store in April of 2017. Lol and you’re probably like so what, but before then I use to take a nap every day, it was the only way I could function. When the school year returns, it’s back to working a full-time job, managing the store, and being a mom.

But with all that said, I did do one special thing this summer, and that was attend a friend’s wedding. It was beautiful, she was beautiful, they were beautiful, everything was beautiful! But most importantly it was funnnn. I think that’s the most important part of a wedding. It’s no point in spending all that money and people don’t enjoy themselves. The DJ made it feel like ’07-’08 (our high school years) lol.

I have so many weddings to be a part of this year and up until now I had never really realized how expensive it is. Even just being a guest comes as an expense because you have to make sure your hair, make-up, and nails are done. You need a dress and you need THEE perfect heels to match. Anddddd don’t forget you need a gift 🙂 Luckily for me, I was able to save some money by purchasing my dress at the wholesale price. But even if I were to purchase it in store, it only retails for $29.99 which still isn’t bad given the quality of the dress. But that’s still not the best part of the story.

Would you believe me if I said this is what the dress originally looked like (See above picture)? Lol in fear that someone else may have my dress on and for reallyyyyy wanting an off the shoulder dress, I took this little baby to my seamstress and had her cut the top off. And voilĂ Ă Ă Ă aĂ !!!!! lol To bring a bit of sexiness to the dress I knew I wanted a pair of open toe string-up heels so I was ecstatic when I found these babies for only $15.00. I completed the look with my favorite accessories everrrr: Ainkas Jewels.

I am so happy to finally be carrying formal gowns at After 5 Lux. It is truly fitting of the name. I am even thinking about venturing into bridesmaid dresses so be on the look out to all my feyoncés lol.
