Let’s first start off talking about how this post almost did not happen. One day, I was sitting at my laptop attempting to login to the dashboard of the site to update the page and modify some things, when suddenly I noticed that the site had crashed. This was overwhelming to me because the same thing had just happened to my business site like two weeks ago.

Yesssss, I said business site! So much has changed since the last time I blogged. I now have a women’s clothing store. But that’s besides the point. Getting back to the subject… So yeah the site crashed. I called my tech advisor and he told me how much it would be to restore both sites and at that point I was like I’m straighttttt. I’ll pass on the blog, it’s not making me any money anyways. But the fighter in me would not let me give up, especially since I had already promised my readers my return on January 1st, 2018. One thing about me, I have to be very careful what I say because once I put it in the air I feel obligated to deliver, and honey I always deliver (Wish I could just drop the painted nails emoji right here like bloop)!

So with no need to say, I paid the money, got the sites restored, and here we are today! So back to this whole business site talk! Yesss boo, I have my own women’s clothing store: After 5 Lux, located at 400 Village Blvd. West Palm Beach, FL 33409. If someone were to ask me what type of clothes I carry I would say “I carry ME” because the store is composed of so many different styles but all things I would wear. I don’t have one set style and I want the store to be a representation of that. If you like causal clothes, there’s something for you. If you like sporty clothes, there’s something for you. If you like contemporary styles, there’s something for you. If you love luxury just as much as I do, then honey there’s definitely something for you!

My eyes are always drawn to expensive things before I even know the price of the item, but I think a part of that is that I know quality when I see it. After 5 Lux carries nothing but quality pieces which is something I am very proud of.

Owning the store has been a rollercoaster ride filled with amazing experiences. I’ve met some great customers that have become friends. I bug my models and make-up artists on a weekly basis about our upcoming shoots. One day we shot as early as 7 a.m. which meant everyone had to be up at 5 a.m. Some days I am so busy I forget to eat. It’s like 11 p.m. and I’m like “Oh crap I didn’t even eat today.” I put my heart, soul, and finances into the store. It’s my baby!

And speaking of babies, I had one! Masyn! He’s my greatest creation. When I first found out I was pregnant I was like “I’m going to kill the pregnancy game!” I’m going to blog about how you can be pregnant but still fashionable. How quickly reality set in! I told myself I was not buying maternity clothes that I would not be wearing anymore after delivery. I cannot say I was lazy during or after my pregnancy. I took several business trips this year, I opened the store during my second trimester, and two weeks after giving birth I was back in the store getting it in.

The store accompanied with giving birth to Masyn, have given me a better understanding of women’s body issues. Customers would come in complaining about so many body issues that I could not understand. Now after having Masyn, I get it! You have a roll here and a stretch mark there. But guess what ladies? We are still beautiful! Now we just have to be more cognizant of things we wear. 

My life is evolving, I am evolving, and my style is evolving. With the addition of Masyn, I don’t have time to do my make-up everyday. And I cannot wear heels everyday. So with that being said, some of my posts will consists of me being a no make-up sneaker wearing mommy. I want to be as transparent and real as possible.

And just when you thought that was all, did I tell you I still haven’t gave up teaching? Crazy right! I am full-time teacher, full-time store owner, full-time mom, and now a full-time blogger. Where will I find the time of day? The truth is, when you want something bad enough you’ll do whatever to make it work. I hope to inspire other moms so that they know that they too can have it all. I’ve been through so much this year. I just thank God for a strong support system. None of this would be possible without my family. So if you see me out with these eyes bags now you know why lol.
